Cha Cha Cha

The ChaCha began in Cuba as a form of the Rumba that was danced with extra beats.  When ballroom dance instructor Pierre Margolie paid a visit to Cuba in 1952 he noticed the difference between the Rumba and the Rumba with extra beats and decided that the Rumba with extra beats should be made a separate dance.  Upon his return to the Britain, he began teaching the Cha Cha Cha.

The ChaCha is danced competitively in both American Rhythm and International Latin American styles of dancing.
